It’s an honest song about not wanting to be free because you’re bound by love. “Free” is one of the most recent songs I wrote, and it feels like where I’m going in terms of the 2000’s rock album. In fact, he added “Free” instead of another song, “Battle Scars,” which better suited the theme of this EP: Moreover, Le Saint mentioned that he changed the track-list of Red Pill in the last minute. During a December 2020 interview with Audiomack, Le Saint explained: Transitioning to the next stage in some strange spiritual hierarchy/ letting go of mind and becoming the observer etc. The Red Pill chronicles Cassie Jaye’s journey exploring an alternate perspective on gender equality, power and privilege. For me transcendence, dying to the ego, and awakening are all the same. When a feminist filmmaker sets out to document the mysterious and polarizing world of the Men’s Rights Movement, she begins to question her own beliefs. While the Blue Pill project was about ignorance, partying and being selfish in love, Red Pill explores, still with his melancholic R&B and trap-rock melodies, the bitter truth behind the outdated vision of life and love, which shatters his ego and exposes his vulnerability. For me the Red pill is Transcendence versus the blue pill- mechanistic ignorance. In contrast to the previous one, there are no collaborations, only Le Saint’s voice. It is composed of four tracks, including his single “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” released on October 30, 2020. ![]() The project follows Blue Pill, which was released in September 2020.
